Blinds guarantee

Please ensure you email our customer service team to request a repair and include product details, fault and order number. We will submit the repair request to the manufacturer on your behalf and once approved advice you of the return address. Do not return faulty items to our office as this will only incur additional delay.

  • Blindsdirect.co.za provides a one year manufacturers guarantee on all blinds with exception of the Instant paper blinds and accessories.
  • Defects are considered if visible, 1 meter away in natural light.
  • Blindsdirect.co.za manufactures use very stringent manufacturing techniques to offer a high quality ready-made blind. They are also constantly assessing components and material to improve the workings of our blinds.
  • Blindsdirect.co.za provides manufacturer guarantee that blinds manufactured will have no defects in raw material and factory workmanship for a one year period, from the date the goods are dispatched.
  • Please note that some fading/discolouration as well as slight warpage may occur over time with Basswood/Plaswood blinds and this is not considered a defect.
  • Blindsdirect.co.za will arrange repair or replace defective blinds (at its discretion) and manufacturer cover the cost of labor and materials. Shipping to and from manufacturer for the repair will be for the purchasers account. We recommend you deliver the blind directly to our manufacturer (Cape Town or Johannesburg) for the repair but we will liaise the repair claim on your behalf.
  • The colour of samples on the website is a guide only, an exact colour match cannot be guaranteed. Also important to note products like basswood/bamboo and some fabrics are manufactured in batches so colour variations are possible from different manufactured batches. Natural products will warp and fade and there may be variations in colour, grain and texture which are characteristic of real natural wood.

Shutters guarantee

Blinds Direct guarantees the shutters supplied will be free from defects in material and workmanship for the period of 1 year. Guarantee is subject to,

  • The guarantee excludes fair wear and tear.
  • Shutters are utilised exclusively for the purpose it was designed for.
  • Shutters regularly cleaned and maintained.
  • Shutters consist exclusively of the materials and components supplied.
  • Shutters are not misused or altered in any manner.

Curtain guarantee

  • Blindsdirect.co.za provides a 6 months manufacturers guarantee on all curtains against defective workmanship and inferior product performance.
  • All fabrics may vary in colour & shade due to dye lots from batch to batch. If you require precise matching then its recommended you request a cutting from the existing batch.
  • Fading is expected and due to varying exposure to sunlight and cleaning methods. Fabrics are not guranteed against shading or fading as considered normal wear and tear.
  • Fabric especially natural fabrics are subject to season movement (shrinking/dropping) when exposed to heat and/or humidity. Up to 5% movement from original length or width is considered accepable.
  • All made to measure final sizes may have a variance of 10mm height or 30mm width is considered acceptable.
  • Subtle irregularities in stitching as well as in fabric texture, slubs and consistency are inherent characteristics and not considered flaws or manufacturing defects.
  • Although often specified with washing instructions, domestic curtain washing is not recommended due to varying machine capabilities/capacities and the use of domestic detergents. We do not specify or guarantee results from non professional or domestic cleaning.
  • Recommend regular light vacuuming or brushing to prevent grime build up and professional cleaning approximately once every two years.

Guarantee does not cover

  • Misuse of the blinds/shutters/curtains or faults as a result of incorrectly installation; please refer to our maintenance page for guidance on where products are most suited.
  • Normal wear and tear on the product.
  • Bamboo & Basswood are natural product; therefore there will be colour variations. It is also subject to minor imperfections like slight warpages or blemishes. Natural products are not suitable for damp or coastal areas.
  • Head and bottom rails as well as slats are made from aluminum and may oxidize near the sea if not properly maintained.
  • Rollers blinds frayed form incorrect rolling up is not covered by guarantee as customer needs to guide the roller as it’s rolled upward.

Linen guarantee

  • All linen will have manufacturer guarantee, terms will be advised as our product range is launched.
