Blinds and Safety considerations.
Window blind cords and chains must be kept out of reach of babies and small children. At Blindsdirect.co.za we put continuous effort in making our customers child safety a priority. Customers need to be aware of the potential hazards that can be posed by unrestrained cords, loops and chains of the blinds.
Often, these possible threats in the home are not always obvious and we therefore take some responsibility to make you aware of these. We at Blindsdirect.co.za have recognized how sensitive an issue this is, and as such, we offer full support to all customers on how to cover this matter and potentially avoid a tragedy occurring in the home or office.
We like to inform our customers not only to consider safety options that can be added to a blind, but also provides further ideas on how to keep children safe around window fittings:
- Furniture should be positioned a safe enough distance so children cannot climb onto blinds.
- Cords and chains should be secured on a child safety cleat when near cots or beds.
- Depending on the position of the blind, its also possible to request the shorter control cords. If you require shorter cords we would be happy to accommodate at no extra cost.
- Keep aware when children are around vertical blinds with bottom chains.
Your well-being is our priority.
